My Himalaya trucking adventure

Before telling a single word about our himalaya trucking expedition in may09 at sarpass, i appreciate the great organization Youth Hostels Association of India for conducting adventurous programs like this. The 11 day trucking camp was full of excitement in terms of new friends, new views and new experiences. We have climbed to the top of the mountain approximately 13800 feet in 8 days. Every day we ascend around 2000 feet and stay in the tent. The temperature is in the range -5 to +5 there. At the top it is full of ice. We have to walk countinously throug ice for more than 7 hours. It is a killing experience. Also the ice mountain is very steep and dangerous to walk. The ice cube rain at hill top in another thrilling experience. As climax at end we have slide around 600 mtrs throug ice. To conclude the participants from different parts of india, beautiful camp atmosphere, camp fire in the night, sleep in tent at very cool temperature in sleeping bag, walking and sliding through ice, e
